Is there Wifi in the villa?
Yes, it is complimentary and the access code is in the blue book.

Can we get transfers from the airport?
Yes, we can organise them for you so a uniformed driver is waiting at the airport arrivals hall. Rates for 2017 with Brave Tours are 1-3 people £55, 4-6 people £ 75, 8-14 people £100 (prices are for total car, not per person, and are one way) from Dalaman which is 1.5 hours away. The second closest airport is Antalya, at 3.5 hours away.

Do we need a car?
Not really, unless you want to get out and see the fantastic surrounding area. Alternative suggestions to get into town are the water boat shuttle from the local Kalkan beach park which runs across the bay, a taxi (£4) or walking (15-20 minutes). Free telephone in the villa to call local taxi companies.
Car hire companies we prefer to use are Brave Tours and Volume Travel, both based in Kalkan. We can assist you in organsing if required.

Is it safe to drink the water?
Drinking bottled water is advisable. There is a complimentary 19litre water cooler which we provide for you on arrival. Simply replace the empties as you require. Using tap water to brush teeth, prepare fruit and vegetables and general washing is fine.

Do we need a tourist visa?
Yes, all UK tourists must pay $20 per person. This MUST be done before you go. Visit  Other countries of origin may vary on price. Please ONLY USE THIS LINK as some fake sites sadly exist.

Where should I change my money?
The currency in Turkey is Turkish Lira. We suggest you acquire some in advance. You should also take English Sterling and change this at the Post Office on the high street for the best rates. You can withdraw cash from the ATM or pay with your credit/debit cards in most restaurants and large shops. Cash very much is King when negotiating in the shops though!

What plug sockets are used there?
The standard European two-pin adapter is required to convert UK plugs. Some are provided in the villa but we suggest you bring your own as sadly these often go home with the guests...!

Do I need to order a Welcome Pack?
Not really as there is a local supermarket 'Bob's Cafe' apprx 200m away. They stock the basics; bread, milk, beer... Larger stores are available in Kalkan and provide a free delivery service. If you are arriving at the villa out of hours then a basic welcome pack would be helpful.

Do I need to bring beach towels?
No. We provide large beach towels fully laundered on arrival as well as hand, bath and poolside towels.

What is there to do there?
Other than relaxing by the private pool, there are many beach clubs to spend the day at. Kalkan market is every Thursday to get some bargains and practise your bartering techniques! Many local sights are worth visiting, such as the ancient ruins at Xanthos and Kekova sunken city. Patara and Kaputas Beach are a short drive away and both incredible. Shopping is in abundance, varying from leather goods to Turkish delight. Have a traditional Turkish hammam massage, visit the local villages and sample the freshwater trout or even get a thrill on a quad bike safari! If you love watersports the calm Kalkan bay will totally appeal, making it ideal for wakeboarding and waterskiing. See the 'Kalkan' page for more suggestions.

What are the local restaurants like?
The food in Turkey is fantastic and Kalkan has over a hundred restaurants tucked away on the cobbled streets. Ranging from cheap and cheerful rustic food to top class restaurants, there is something for every occasion, with even the most highclass of places a third of London prices.
The food is delicious; mezze platters, grilled seabass with wild rocket and the most tender steaks are often found on the menus. While it is great to explore on your own, we can certainly recommend somewhere for a special occasion.
There is a complimentary landline in the villa for you to make reservations without getting hefty mobile bills upon your return home!
